EHSS Week 2011 a Success
NEC held its annual EHSS Week during 2–5 May 2011 under the theme, “OSH Management System: Supporting Business with Sustainability in Mind.” A series of informative and interactive activities took place to increase our awareness of EHSS issues and their impact in the workplace as well as our daily lives.
The week started off with a brief opening ceremony in which NEC’s Nikesha Victor, Environmental Technical Officer, made a presentation on the Impacts of Climate Change. The programme also featured discourses by industry experts on the topics of Driving Safety, Bomb Threats and Earthquake Preparedness. The highlight of the week came in the form of the NEC EHSS Wheel of Knowledge Game Show which saw teams of three members each testing their knowledge in an interactive quiz.
The observances came to a close with a prize‑giving ceremony on 5 May 2011. Congratulations to Kavita Balgobin who penned the winning slogan and the “Groovy Girls” (Kavita, Lela and Charlene) who were crowned game show champs. We wish to thank the EHSS Week Planning Committee and all those who contributed to the success of this event. We look forward to more fun and learning next year as we strengthen our EHSS culture.
Camilla Arjoonsingh, NEC’s Head, EHSS, receives token from
Brent Batson of Arrive Alive.
