From March 26th to the 29th NEC partnered with NEDCO to host two day workshops for micro and small business owners in the communities of Guayaguayare and La Brea. These workshops entitled “Developing your Business from Micro to Small to Medium Enterprises” provided training to a total of sixty-three (63) participants, and introduced them to key entrepreneurial principles, skills and issues necessary for overall business success. They also provided guidelines on key business aspects to grow businesses from Micro to Small to Medium sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Participants developed practical and customized growth plans as a group, which was then tailored to their individual enterprises. Special consideration and emphasis was placed on the unique needs of entrepreneurs in these communities.
It is the hope of NEC that with the growth of these businesses there would be continued socio-economic development within these communities.
