Over the years it has become customary for newly appointed delegates to visit state sector organizations to apprise themselves of new developments in order to better promote Trinidad and Tobago overseas.

In accordance with this practice, NEC hosted His Excellency Mr. Nyahuma Obika, High Commissioner‑designate to Abuja, Nigeria and His Excellency Dr. Neil Parsan, Ambassador-designate to Washington, D.C., USA at our administrative offices in Couva on Tuesday, 25 January 2011.

The diplomats were provided with an overview of the energy industry of Trinidad and Tobago with emphasis on matters that pertain to their countries of posting.  A presentation was also made on the projects and activities currently being undertaken by NEC, resulting in a participative discussion. The diplomats indicated their eagerness to continue building their relationship with NEC as they take up their posts presently, for the advancement and positioning of Trinidad and Tobago as a global leader in energy.
