On Saturday October 29th 2011 NEC held a day of Health and Wellness at the La Brea Recreational Grounds, Pt. D’or, La Brea under the patronage of the Minister of Health the Honourable Dr. Fuad Khan, This event served serve to educate persons on ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle while promoting the importance of exercise and being fit for life-mentally and physically.
The one day outdoor program included an aerobic marathon, and consisted of booths focusing on the following areas:

Information on Pap Smear, Breast Cancer, Prostate

The event was supported by the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and several health organizations including the Family Planning Association, Population Service International, the county St. Patrick West Health Facility and Ferreira Optical.
