Who Are We?
The Energy Sector Corporate Social Responsibility Task Force was established to promote greater collaboration among state-owned energy sector companies in the delivery of CSR programmes. It has been endorsed by the Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs and the membership currently includes representatives of
N.G.C;
N.E.C;
Petrotrin and
Lake Asphalt of Trinidad and Tobago. The mandate of the Task Force requires that member companies work together to “maximize the positive socio-economic impacts of the energy sector.”
What Are We About?
There are two main areas of focus:
· Public Education
- Sponsorship of programmes to educate and inform the national community about the role and importance of the state-owned energy sector in national development.
· Youth and Community Development
- The implementation of capacity building projects within ‘fenceline’ communities to enhance the skills of residents especially the youth.
- The promotion of sustainable community development through partnerships with other stakeholders and the institutional strengthening of appropriate community-based organizations.
