Towage & Harbour Operations

NEC has built up a solid reputation as a reliable local tug service provider.  Our tug operations were initially established to support the activities of the Point Lisas container and petrochemical terminals.  We remain responsible for supplying tug services to all vessels calling at the Port of Point Lisas, Trinidad located 10°24'.2N, 61°29'.6W in the Gulf of Paria about 20 km north of Venezuela.  Over the years, we have expanded our operations and today, NEC owns a fleet of 9 tugs and 1 launch boat commercially operated   to service all the local ports of Trinidad and Tobago and other regional markets.

Our tugs range from 5 tons to 55 tons bollard pull with varying capabilities that allow us to provide mooring/unmooring, towing and anchor handling services, deck cargo and personnel transport.

As the designated authority for the maintenance of the Point Lisas Harbour, we ensure that all navigational aids are fully operational and the dredged depth maintained for the safe berthing and unberthing of vessels.

Our Advantage

NEC’s towage services have been tailored to meet the needs of all of our customers with a marine co-ordination unit fit to deliver efficiency and flexibility in its operations.
